As Nurburg has only recently discovered the telephone, don't expect to find too many wifi hotspots dotted around the Ring, and don't expect 3G. It does, however, have good GPRS coverage.

For those who really can't survive without net access, there are a couple of options. First, you can take a wireless PDA with you. No prizes for guessing who does that.

Second, Adenau now has a net cafe. This is located inside the 'Come In' pizza bistro, near the cycle shop. From the Breidscheid exit, turn right, drive into the main part of town and look out for a cycle shop on your left. The 'Come In' bistro is right next door:

It's open from 11am until late. When we asked what 'late' meant (knowing from experience that restaurants in Adenau tend to close at about 10pm) we were assured that it meant no earlier than midnight and often 2am. Is it just me, or is anyone else envisaging a few drunken Ringers getting into a taxi and driving over here at about 1am to look something up on the net to settle some bet or other ... ?

The cost is €4 per hour.

You may find the pda version of my website handy. This contains the essential details you might need whilst actually at the Ring in an ultra-low-bandwidth, small-screen format.
